The MPB Series 640S and 1040S Dual Tube Flowmeters are designed for measuring two instantaneous flow rates of virtually any process liquids or gases simultaneously. The principle of operation of the flowmeter is quite simple:-

The height attained by the float in its tapered flow tube is directly related to a calibrated scale. The flow should be read from the centre of the ball, or top of a plumb bob float.

Typical applications include analytical instrumentation, gas flow control, small dosing systems, purge metering, leak detection and blending systems, or any requirement for a dual tube arrangement.

Typical industries served include brewing, gas analysis, aerospace, pharmaceutical, engine testing, paper, water treatment, oil and gas, etc.

Series 1240S Dual Tube Variable Area Flowmeter

The MPB Series 1240S Dual Tube Flowmeter is suitable for applications where two process mediums are metered side-by-side. The inlet pressures ideally should be balanced.

Where two flows converge, the MPB Series 1240S Dual Tube Flowmeter is ideal for this application. For instance, air and carbon dioxide, or oxygen and nitric oxide, etc, etc may be metered together as a compound gas (or liquid).

Flow rates as low as 50cc/min Air, or gas equivalent and up to 150 L/min Air, or equivalent gas, can be employed where previously two individual flowmeters were used making neater presentation and space saving.

Where extreme accuracy is required, this version of the MPB Series1240 Dual Tube Flowmeter can be supplied with a single control valve with two flow tubes allowing a very low flow rate to cascade into a higher flow rate. This creates the opportunity to display very accurate readings across the required flow range (see 1241S MPBTB 101).

The MPB Series 1240S Dual Tube Flowmeter combines both flows into a common manifold and exits the compound flow through the outlet, which is positioned at the top right hand side of the flowmeter. However if preferred, two independent rear facing connections are required, MPB can accommodate this.

An appropriate flame arrester must be employed where explosive gases are used.

Typical applications include analytical instrumentation, gas flow control, small dosing systems, purge metering, leak detection and blending systems.

Typical industries served include brewing, gas analysis, medical, aerospace, pharmaceutical, engine testing, paper, water treatment, oil and gas, etc.

The MPB Series 1241S Dual Tube Cascade Flowmeter is suitable for measuring the instantaneous flow rate of virtually any process liquid or gas.

The MPB Series 1241S Dual Tube Cascade Flowmeter is designed for applications where a high accuracy is required across conditions where the normal 10:1 turndown ratio needs to be exceeded, particularly where high accuracy is required for the first readings, which can be displayed on the first flow tube.

A typical installation, for example, would be left hand flow tube 10-100cc/min and cascading to 100-1000cc/min, or 0.1-1 L/min cascading to 1-10 L/min regardless of process medium, or operating conditions.

This flowmeter offers flow rates down to 50cc/min (5-50) up to 150 L/min in cascading orders.

The MPB Series 1241S Dual Tube Cascade Flowmeter has rear facing connection ¼” BSPPF for inlet and right hand side top outlet.

For metering two different gases or liquids to create a compound, gas or solution, this can be achieved using the MPB Series 1240S Dual Tube Flowmeter.

Typical applications include analytical instrumentation, gas flow control, small dosing systems, purge metering, leak detection and blending systems,
